A??rian Smith asked:
I have a Mac (OS 10.3) and it has Apache web server. How can I use this to publish a website? Whenever I try putting documents in the web folder, they don’t appear in other computers (using the URL in system preferences).

you need a database like mysql, and a language like php to make it work plus applications.

You need to place your local website files within the root folder of the server directory, most common being is the httpdocs folder. you can access that in the browser using the url pointed to your local files. i think plain html files can be accessed directly but if you have dynamic pages, you also need to have other programs such as php and mysql.

The browser may not the htdocs folder it might be working properly or it is the html files into the website from the browser may.
